I like clouds. Sometimes when I walk around, I look up at the sky and look at the clouds. Sometimes, I even try identifying them. It’s fun to look at clouds. Clouds are good because they bring shade and rain. It’s always so hot in Singapore so it’s nice when it rains. It becomes windy and cool, and it’s the perfect weather to stay at home and relax. Unless the rain is immediately followed by hot sun. Then instead of becoming cooler it just becomes even hotter and more humid. Have you seen clouds from an airplane? It’s so cool to see the clouds from on top instead of below. I wonder what superheroes feel when they fly through clouds. I assume it’s something like mist but colder.
One of my favourite clouds is the cumulonimbus cloud. This means that rain is coming! Actually maybe my favourite cloud is any nimbus cloud. Did you know that nimbus means “rain bearing”? I like cumulonimbus clouds because it brings heavy rain and it’s so nice to snuggle at home. But I also like nimbostratus clouds. Sometimes too much rain is scary but just a little drizzle is refreshing.
Another one of my favourite clouds is the cirrocumulus clouds. They are high up in the sky and look very nice like little puffs of cotton drifting in the big blue sea. Cirrus clouds are also nice. So wispy and artistic. Come to think of it, most clouds high up look nice. Maybe it’s because they are small.
Maybe you should take a look at the clouds some time. I think too many people just look at their phones. I also do that sometimes. But when I look up at the clouds, I realise how much there is to see in the world. Your phone may show you lots of things, but why look elsewhere when you can appreciate things around you irl. Even as I write this short article, I look out at the sky and watch the clouds. Why don’t you give it a try?
If you're not sure where to start, here is a nice website that shows the different clouds in Singapore. (http://www.weather.gov.sg/learn_clouds/)
btw all the pictures were taken by yours truly because if you haven't already noticed by now, I like clouds ;)
